Favorites: Benjarong (Thai) Rt 27 Acton between 111 and Maynard: My favorite lunch restaurant in the area, and good for dinner too. Fresh ingredients, skillfully prepared. Pleasant waitstaff and owners. My favorites are the Shrimp Tom Yum (soup) and Chicken Basil. If you like it spicy, they will prepare 4- and 5- star hot dishes (the menu only goes to 3). (Warning: 5 star is beyond my comprehension on the hot scale!) Sushi House (Japanese) Rt 2 Concord, just east of the rotary, next to Papa Razzi: Another favorite. I am no sushi expert, but I do like it, and I've never had a bad experience here. A tad expensive; but they have a good sushi combo lunch for $9, which gives you PLENTY to eat. Sometimes can get VERY busy for lunch nowadays - go early or late. Le Lyonnaise (French) Rt 2A Acton, north of 27 Chez Claude (French) Rt 2A Acton, south of 27 I put these together because of their similar location, cuisine and quality. Both are WONDERFUL dining experiences, French-restaurant expensive (not quite as much as the Boston French restaurants) but impeccable in every way. Both are set in converted houses, which give them a homey and intimate feel. The Quarterdeck (Fish) Main St. Maynard, across from the mill Fresh Fish! Fish fish fish. Fresh, well prepared, reasonably priced. (There's an attached fish market, too.) and for the best bagels north of 110th in Manhatten: Bagels Plus, Rt 2A Acton, near the movie theater! Others: China Trade (Chinese) Rt 2 Concord (co-located w/ Sushi House) Standard Hunan/Szechuan chinese cuisine. Our usual Chinese take-out place. Good food, but a warning: if you're getting take-out CHECK THE ORDER (they've been wrong more times than right for us). There are lots more places to eat out here - I've just mentioned the ones I regularly go to. - Steve Stein
