It's a combination of continental and Cuban cooking. At least it was until that woman started Truc. I just remember having an awesome 3 course meal for $25. Wonderful warm spinach salad, duck I think for an entree and great dessert (it was a while ago). It still ranks as a top meal in Boston (or the area). Magnolia's has nice hearty southern/cajun cooking. Great pecan crusted catfish, huge porkchops, mashed sweet potatoes, and rolls/muffins served with the meal. It used to be the Cajun Yankee and was hugely popular when it first opened. Not as hip as it once was but I still like it. Finally got to the Franklin Cafe a few weeks ago and that's got an interesting menu with no entree over $16. Had black pepper crusted tuna with the best mashed potatoes, my friend had great salmon. Some home cooking, some slightly more creative. No desserts tho. It's a fun place but be ready to stand around in a crowded place cuz I think walking in and getting a table is next to impossible.
