 1. Rarities (Charles Hotel in Cambridge)
 2. Cafe Budapest (by Copley Place)
 3. Bay Tower Room (Downtown at Faneuill Hall)
 4. Veronica (in Brookline)

 Marginally romantic, but good food:

 5. Biba (Boylston St)
 6. Michela's (Cambridge, was there yesterday - new northern Italian menu.
 Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm)
 7. Spinnaker

and many more... Budapest, IMHO is the most romantic, food is OK, too.
$$$, though. All of the above are within 500 yards from public
 transportation,
except maybe Rarities, which is within 700-800 yards from Harvard Sq.

There are many other options for decent food, if you would elaborate on
 what exactly you want.

 Cherio,
 7. Turner Fisheries
