I agree with Jael that Spinnaker (Hyatt Regency Cambridge) has a great
view of the city and is quite romantic but the food has a lot to be
desired. I've been there on a couple occasions. The bread with the
pesto-olive oil spread is very good as are the desserts. The entrees
however were definately not up to par in my opinion. I ordered the
special one evening which was a seafood fettuccine dish that reeked (and
tasted) like it was marinated in cheap white wine.

I'd have to go with The Hungry I on Charles Street or Chanterlle on
Newbury Street as the most romantic that I've been to. Both have
excellent menus from start to finish.

try the Hungry I in Charles St. Expensive, but very romantic, and very good
 food.

Icarus on Appleton St in the South End is good, too.
