There is an Italian place on Main Street in Malden, who's name escapes me - its Very Good. Other then that, nothing of interest in Malden except for my housemate's aunt who comes from Calabria, Italy and makes Italian food that has to be eaten to be believed, tho.. sadly, their catering business closed and Deli were sold. (They retired.)

(They retired.) Don't know if this is the one you're talking about, but I had an excellent (albeit expensive) meal at Il Panino in Malden Center. [They also have a cafe-like place in Harvard Square which has excellent food, but mostly a take-out atmosphere.]
