Kra Tong, 868 Broadway, 666-8282, at the site that was most recently Chow's Kitchen. The new China Sun (in Davis Sq, where the Street Cafe was) has some Thai dishes as well, especially a Tom Yung Gung that I didn't bother finishing (after the shrimps were gone, it reminded me of hot water.) I've had the Pad Thai, the Thai Iced Coffee, and the lunchtime Ginger Duck at Kra Tong. It's not bad, but I've had better Thai food elsewhere (Erawhan, the Chinatown Mall.) The coffee was not delicious, which it usually is elsewhere. I thought the Pad Thai was greasier than need be, ad the Ginger Duck a little skimpy and weakly spiced (I asked for medium spicy.) Nevertheless, the place is a welcome addition. I wonder how frustrated with the same food I'd have to be before I cough up the dough for Gargoyles? I wonder when will be the first time I become a yuppie scum Daddy, deciding that my daughter's screaming is too precious to hoarde, that I should share it with all the other diners?
