In fact, I walked past one yesterday. It's called Penang, I believe, and is
located in Chinatown, on Washington Street between Kneeland Street and Beach
Street. I couldn't tell you the first thing about the food, but it is a
VERY nice-looking place.Boston, MA
Malaysian Resturant in Boston?

I've been there twice; first time was fairly non-descript, second time was wonderful (and I can't remember for the life of me any of the dishes we'd ordered, but the marinated pickled vegetable appetizer thing was excellent.) Friends of mine who have been there frequently rave about it, so I'm inclined to think my first visit was on an off-night. Prices are very reasonable (under $10 mostly?) so it's certainly worth a try. -nhy

The food was good (though the odd drinks are really *very* odd, and only "drinks" by liberal semantics), the place was fairly crowded and noisy and suggested "popular night spot". -Laura Baldwin
A good friend of mine who is from Malaysia (now living in Boston) swears that this place is "the real thing." Haven't been yet, but looking forward to it.
