Williamstown has a range of good food. The Springs (south of town on rt 7) is my favorite for a big dinner. Mill on the Floss (also Rt 7 south) and "1896 House" also had good dining rooms. Sandwich shop in town is satisfactory. In south-central Berkshires (maybe Pittsfield or Stockbridge) there was a restaurant called Alice's at Avaloch (spelling approximate). I don't recall details of the cuisine but the proprietress was Alice of "Alice's Restaurant" fame. Or so the story went.

I *love* Pappa Charlie's (the sandwich shop in Williamstown). All of the sandwiches are named after celebrites. My favorite is the "Dwight Shultz." Wish I could find a place like that around here (West Roxbury).

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you! -- Grandpa Simpson
