Ave., right across from the Stop & Shop, between Arlington Center and Arlington Heights, in the location formerly occupied by the Modern Market (small mom&pop grocery). The old sign from the Modern Market has been nicely polished up, and is on the wall inside Blue Ribbon. The food is every bit as good as the Blue Ribbon in Newton, but they need to work on ventilation -- my wife and I had been planning to eat in, this afternoon, but the large amount of smoke inside made us change our minds and get takeout. In other barbecue news, I've heard through the BBQ rumor mill (i.e. the owner of another barcecue joint, whom I'd rather not cite bye name because I didn't get permission) that the Texas Chili Pit, formerly located in the Porterhouse Cafe, will *not* be reopening in East Cambridge, as I had formerly reported here. The rumor I heard says that the owner/pitboss was about to open up in a location across from the courthouse near Lechmere, encountered some personal financial and/or legal problems, and moved to Mexico. So don't hold your breath waiting for the return of Hot&Nasty Ribs or Southwest Texas sauce. *sigh*
