If you're going to be at Symphony Hall, and are looking for BBQ, just walk to Bob the Chef's instead. Good "soul" food, nice music, good people. Not on par with Blue Ribbon, but they've got fried chicken that's amazingly great. I live on Mass Ave & Tremont, and I got there all the time. Love it.

Lyn To clarify: Dixie Kitchen is a combination of Cajun and Creole, not so authentic, but pretty good. They have a faux BBQ sauce they call "zydeco sauce" which they put on ribs and chicken. Yum -- very good, but it's *NOT* bbq. Bob the Chef's is more of a Southern "sould food" joint, more towards a mix than BBQ. I have to disagree about Dixie Kitchen being cheaper -- I eat at both places all the time, and I have to say that they're on par with one another (i.e.: a tiny bit overpriced for style of food they're serving, but still cheap). If anything BtC's is cheaper. Bob's also serves beer, something Dixie kitchen doesn't. Also, Bob's has a nicer atmosphere and decor. The music at Bob's is always great, and the music at Dixie is always some Cajun caterwauling that makes me, my guests and even the waitresses want to rip the speakers from the walls. Both have good food, but Bob's is really a few notches better. IMO, of course -- YMMV. (Please post where you actually end up going, and what you thought of where you went!)

They didn't even have pulled pork on the menu. I won't be back.

B.B. Wolf isn't bad. They have revamped the menu, and added Pulled pork. They
have also increased the beer selection to 48 differant beers. I have always
liked the Baby back ribs and the short ribs, and now with a good selection of
beers, i think it is worth a try.
