If you're not looking for a fancy sit-down dinner, try the Lexington Market where you can get all kinds of seafood (the raw bar is particularly good) and your husband could get some of the world's best fried chicken, cheesesteaks, fries, and much, much more. Phillips is another seafood restaurant where I'm sure you would both be satisfied. I recommend that while you're in Baltimore, you have some famous Maryland Crabs. Chesapeake Bay Oysters aren't in season right now, but they're terrific also. Enjoy!

Duck, meat, and veal are also available, for your husband. This place has been around for many, many years - used to be a speakeasy in the 1920s, and the atmosphere is inimitable. They don't advertise, and I don't think they take reservations, either. Blue door with a doorbell; just ring and they let you in. Very much an insider's place, very downtown Baltimore, very Bohemian, with wonderful but unpretentious French/Contentental food. Casual dress - black is always appropriate! Entrees are ca. $20.00, as I recall, with nice, seasonal variety. Lauren Oppenheim
