You must go to Haussner's. It's on the east side of town where the old women (used to) clean the marble steps outside their houses on their hands and knees. Before air conditioning, folks painted their window screens with decorative scenes. The restaurant has sentimental, nineteenth-century art on every square inch of wall space. There is a nude statue in every corner. (Check out the bar's art too.) The food is also memorable. I love the big dish of rolls. The menu is two pages long, typed, single spaced. If you can't decide, go for the crab imperial. Haussner's is a real experience. Enjoy!
