I've done quite a bit of dining in Portland. Here are my top 5 so far:
        1) Fore Street
        2) Katahdin
        3) Walters
        4) Hugo's Portland Bistro
        5) Street & Co.
All of these are in the Old Port Section. Hope I've helped.

It's still there but I haven't been. I use to live in Maine and I still can't get passed the cheesy commercials they used to have for their 1/2 price specials. I do know quite a few people who like going there though.

Here's a list of Portland restaurants I want to try, all of whom got very good reviews:

1. Cafe Uffa
2. Zephyr Grill
3. Aubergine Bistro & Wine Bar

DeMillos is still in Portland. The good is reported to be good (maybe not great) but you can't beat the atmosphere! (for those who aren't familiar with it, it's a former ship sitting in Portland harbor, turned into a restaurant.

I was in Portland a few weeks ago and ate at both Zephyr Grill and Street & Co.

Street & Co was wonderful. Excellent seafood. Zephyr Grill had a small, but very interesting menu, however I was not too impressed with the dish I had.

It is hard to get into Street & Co. Reservations were impossable, but if you show up early (about 5:00) they set aside a few tables for walkins
