What about great ice cream in other locales around New England? It's getting harder and harder to find real homemade ice cream at locally owned ice cream places. Last summer I was in New Harbor, Maine, and had a wonderful dish of Indian Pudding ice cream at a place called the Samoset (actually, I'm not sure if they made it themselves, but it certainly was unusual). New England used to be filled with great ice cream stands.... I'd love to hear about some that may still be left, since there aren't any around where I live. Robin

Both are ok for a quick cone. Please don't go to Friendly's they take an eternity to wait on you and a life time to finally serve you. Ciao!

There's a nice dairy in Waltham, for those near town. I can't remember it's name, but it gets long lines at times.
Another place, for those up north, is Hodgie's on Rt. 110 in AMesbury, near the Merrimack border. The ice cream is good, and portion sizes are unbelievable. Really. Try ordering a 1/4-kiddie cone. It's huge.
