Lords on Wells Beach is our favorite restaurant in the area.

there's the Stage Neck Inn in York Harbor - from what i recall, the menu is similar to the York Harbor Inn...

can't forget - flo's hot dogs on route 1 N (get the hot sauce & mayo combo- i kid you not!)

up the road in ogunquit, there's various places... Arrows (very fancy (californian/french)- not sure that they're open off-season though - one of my favorites...) Hurricane (kind of a trick-or-treat sort of place) - basic american/seafood - had 3 meals there - 1 good, 1 awful, 1 so so barnicle billy's - pretty good seafood - a bit pricy...

I'd suggest "The Lighthouse" which is on the road to Nubble Light.

The food is good, the menu is fairly broad, and the view of the ocean breaking on the rocks is great. All that and the prices are very reasonable.

We (my extended family) eat lunch there each year when we vacation one weekend each year, and we get there when they open at noon. I'd suggest getting there early to get a window table. They often have lobster specials, which is what I think I had when we ate there last time.

FWIW, the small dining room at Fox's right at Nubble Light was very good for seafood (fried clams, boiled lobster, steamed clams, and chowder). Fox's had very good ice cream.

We also always eat at Billy's Chowder House in Wells. Billy's has THE BEST lobster roll, and their fried clams and onion rings are also great. This is a modest ride up Rt. 1 (?) to Mile Road, but I wouldn't be in the area without going to Billy's.

We also tried the Lobster-Cove last year. It's owned by the people that own Goldenrod (the salt water taffy place) in the center of York Harbor.

It was good, and we went back, but if I had only one place to go to it would be Billy's, followed by The Lighthouse.

When we go to Maine this year, I plan to go to them all.
