I don't know about brunch at any of these places, but there IS good food in Richmond.

Jags in Centerville, one town west of Richmond (ten minutes by car), is a very good restaurant and bar that reminds me of one of the really neat pubs on Capitol Hill in D.C. Nice decor and pleasing food.

The Old Richmond Inn is more upscale, and thus more expensive. I have had some wonderful meals there.

The Leland Hotel in the center of town probably has a reasonable restaurant, but I'm not sure. It was a Radisson when I lived there (went to college there).

Most of the other choices in the area are fast food and sandwich places, but the Chamber of Commerce could probably recommend something.

Best,
Alan
