Haven't been, but there is a nice review of it in the current issue of CHICAGO SOCIAL magazine (a glossy "society" - type thing that is distributed free in apartment lobbies, bookstores, etc. on the North Side). It made for interesting reading, as it is strictly Kosher; it's also the only "fine dining" Kosher restaurant in the city (although IIRC there is a nice Kosher place in the Hyatt in IL Center).

I've been to Shallots. It's pretty good, even if you don't keep Kosher. The service wasn't perfect, but close enough, really... and I was there not long after they opened, so it may have improved. Price not unreasonable, for Kosher fine dining... just a tiny bit high for everyone else. Customers are a little dressy, but not everyone... there's no dress code.

No, sorry, there's no Kosher restaurant in the Hyatt... that restaurant (Masada, I think it was) closed years ago! They do have a Kosher catering kitchen... and *may* be able to supply a Kosher meal to a guest... but no restaurant.

My opinion, of course.
