There is an Afghan place on Main Street in Evanston, between Hinman and Chicago, named La Rosa and also Afghan Fine Cuisine. It started as a storefront pizza shop, but when the space next to it opened the owner, who is Afghani and a very nice man, expanded and put Afghan dishes on the menu. It is a sit-down place, but you can also do takeout. It is mostly Kebabs, but you can get other dishes. The scallion dumplings and pumpkin side dish are particularly good. I believe it is the only Afghan place in the Chicago area, and has been reviewed by both the Trib and the Sun Times.
