We would not have minded had the prices not been so high. >Crowded/not crowded around 6 pm Saturdays I have no idea. You can rest assured that I will never be there ever again, so I (and I suspect anyone else who has been unfortunate enough to eat there) will not be contributing to crowding. However, Russian Palace was advertising very heavily on WFMT a while back in a clear effort to snare symphony-goers unfamiliar with the Loop. They may have been successful. My advice would be to go to the far superior Russian Tea Time (also on Adams, between Michigan and Wabash) if you and your friends are in the mood for Russian food. Other places I can recommend are Printers Row (pricy but wonderful) and Prairie (less pricy but also less wonderful), both on Dearborn, and the old standby, The Berghoff (very reasonable prices) on Adams. Italian Villiage also gets good reviews, but I haven't been there in ages. BTW, if you decide to go to any of the above (even the Russian Palace), I would strongly suggest making a reservation in advance. __________________________________________________________________ Scott Reynolds [email removed]

Make sure to go to the one on the South side of the street-- Russian Tea Time. Busy, elegant, not inexpensive. Reservations a must. Concert nights are booked up well in advance. The other place, whose name fortunately escapes me has an interesting decor. Stick your head in and look around... then leave. I ahve failed to follow my own advice on that score three times. Each time was worse than the time before. Len [email removed] http://www.mcs.net/grossman "Reflections of a ModemJunkie" collected at: http://www.mcs.net/ftp/mcsnet.users/grossman
