 Rosa's has a website: http://www.rosaslounge.com
I've never been there myself, but a few of my friends make it a weekly habit. It's supposed to be a great blues place with NO food of any kind. The neighborhood is desolate, so you can't really find food within walking distance. I've been told that sometimes the patrons would order out for pizza, and that once in a while Mama Rosa would cook italian food for a special night. It's suggested that you go to a mexican diner on 2001 N. Western Ave., for cheap mexican fare; the diner is open 24hrs and is "on the way", although I guess it would all depend where you're coming from.

Go a few blocks north on Western to Quesedilla's - excellent food at reasonable prices.

Karen (Opera Buffa)

What I know about opera is laughable.

That would be Arturo's, a good place. I'd like to also suggest Lazo's, another taqueria a couple doors north at 2009 N Western. A few weeks ago I was taking the blue line in from O'Hare late on a Friday night. We were starving and trying to think of somewhere close to the train to get something decent to eat after midnight. Lazo's!! The place was really hopping at about 1 AM (both Arturo's and Lazo's are open 24 hr). Absolutely packed, loud music, loud customers, really interesting atmosphere. I'm sure we were the only non-Spanish speakers in the entire place. We sat at the counter and ordered a selection of tacos. Everything was very tasty but the barbacoa and al pastor were especially good. I've had better salsas though. Licuados (fresh fruit shake) and espresso were good. Caldos (shrimp, chicken, or beef soup) looked really great; maybe next time. Watching the grillmen work (true pros) and just taking in the surroundings was a lot of fun. There is better Mexican food to be had but for a post-midnight feeding session you can do much, much worse.
