And thay have taken a dark interior and made it _pleasantly_ bright and cheerful. Food is excellent. The same restaurant used to be in a EuroModern style at the corner of Polk Street. This is a much more fitting setting. The Italian restaurant ( Katerina?) is a good place for one of their huge sandwiches or something simple. Pleasant, but not much more. Printers Row restaurants

I like the place. If you like super super hot food, try the 'pad prik' there. The dish is literally 75% jalapeno peppers. Boy ... I still remember when I was foolish enough to try it.

Pleasant, but not much more. I like Trattoria Katerina -- it's not fancy, but they've redone the decor and the food is really good. It's also a Transmedia restaurant, for those who have Transmedia cards. My only problem with TratKat is that free parking is hard to find sometimes. My favorite dish (so far) is Tortellini della Nonna -- I wish I had a grandma who cooked liked that! Greg

We used to live near there, and liked the Thai place, but I was never thrilled with Trattoria whatever-it's-called-now (used to be Peppino, changed to Katerina). Their lasagna wasn't baked, but was layered pasta with cheese and sauce then sent right out, and STILL took a half-hour to come out. However, I do like their fried rice and zucchini balls. Lee
