Phoenix on Archer in Chinatown

Well, after my 5th visit to the Phoenix restaurant on Archer across from the Chinatown mall, I can say that I truly enjoy the place. I've taken friends and relatives at late hours of the day (their hours are 8am-1am) and have yet to be disappointed. Tonight's dinner (after 10pm) we had some typical Dim Sum, along with wide rice noodles with a chili, dried shrimp, scallion and soy sauce (my guess, they call it X.O. sauce), oysters with black bean sauce (the biggest things I've seen... wonderfully fresh and really great flesh). Wide rice noodles with beef in brown gravy and Chinese vegetables is a great staple at my table.

Make a friend in Julie while you're there. She'll give you the low-down on the fresh stuff in the kitchen. Show up late at night, check out what the staff is eating. Come back the next lunch day and order the same. =)

Kudos,

I'll second and third your opinion!

Visit there about once a week and it is ALWAYS just wonderful.

(Too bad it is so far........I live north and it is an undertaking to get there, but it is worth the effort.)
