Thanks in advance. -cj The best Persian restaurant in Chicago is at my parent's house, but they tend to be a bit picky about the clientle they let it ;-) The second best Persian restaurant in Illinois is an awesome place called Reza's Restaurant just north of downtown Chicago. I suggest looking them up in a phone book. Be forewarned that I have only occasionally seen people actually finish their food there (the portions are enormous!). I recommend not wasting calories on the kabab coobedeh (ground meat kababs) and going all the way for the shishleek (kababs made from tenderloin...mmmmm...) (hey, I can't spell them out in Farsi either! ;-) In general, the food their is of very good quality and a tremendous value (<$10 a head unless you go hog wild). If you go, I would recommend that you stick with the chello kabab, since they do that particularly well. Also, no meal is complete without tea and dessert, so leave a little room...

Beware: you will get very large portions with large amounts of rice at very reasonable prices! Within the last year they finally made it on Chicago Magazine's dining list. During busy Fridays/Saturdays the service can lag severely. They are on North Clark in Chicago. -john.
