Best Veg. Indian Food in town
Last weekend, I had an opportunity to try out newly opened south Indian restaurant in Chicagoland area called "Woodland of Madras" located at 2340 West Devon Avenue in Chicago, Tel (312) 338-8550. Here are few of the reasons why should you try it:
1. Pure vegetarian cooking - you can choose from over 25 different
items for lunch buffet including appetizers, soups, curries, breads,
salads, rice specialties, uttapam. Dosai/uttapam (various) are
served hot on the table. The best Dosai you should try is "Masala
Dosa" filled with potatoes, onion, carrots, nuts.
Dinner buffet - the only dinner buffet of its kind. You can enjoy
the dinner with even more verities. 30 different items are
available
for you to choose.
2. Service - service is excellent. You don't have to wait for long
time
to get your food. You can enjoy various dishes while your choice of
Dosai/uttapam is being prepared and is served hot right on the
table.
3. Inexpensive - the lunch buffet is only $ 5.95 and dinner buffet is
$ 6.95. Its the best value for your money you can find for this
type of specialty food.
4. Best Decor - the decor is very eye catching. The chairs and
atmosphere is very comfortable.
Try the food for yourself to appreciate.

There are also Woodlands restaurants in Montreal and New York. These are also both very good. - Gil Neiger
