I just posted this review to Metromix and thought I would share my dining experience at the new Wicker Park Greek restaurant Olympic Garden: If you had ever been to Lorimar's, the old grocery store that used to occupy this space, you will be certainly amazed at the changes. The atmosphere is great. The volume isn't too loud; the chairs are very comfortable, so comfortable that we didn't want to leave. We didn't want to leave, that is, until our waiter accused us of lying to him. The waiter, Yainni, had asked to take our appetizer order. We asked for the grilled octopus and a saganaki and then we told him that we would also like to place our dinner order. The dinner arrived quickly, but no appetizers. We told Yainni that we did not receive our appetizers and he said that we never ordered any. I insisted that we did and he said "I have been a waiter for 22 years and I think I know if someone has ordered an appetizer or not." My two friends and I were completely appalled. I told him that all three of us remembered placing the order but he continued to insist that we did not. We just told him to forget it and ate our dinner, which was fine. Nothing too outstanding. I had the Greek-style tuna and my friends had mixed seafood dishes. For the prices and the rudeness of the waiter we will never go back. If we want good Greek food we'll go to Greektown or if we want a Greek restaurant that serves mostly steaks and seafood we'll go to QP in the Seneca Hotel. Olympic Garden 1824 W.
