It's open to everybody; just take the escalator from the lobby to the second floor. At noon the cafeteria is set up with chef stations (Oriental; composed salads; sandwiches; Italian; American-style hot food including a carved meat, other entrees, and several vegetables) and there's also an elaborate bar with salads, fruits, taco makings, and four kinds of soup, also a dessert bar. Portions are generous, the food is good, and prices are extremely low, for example a huge custom-made sandwich of any kind costs $1.95, while a roast beef dinner comes to less than $5. Spice of Life also serves dinner but most of the stations are shut down then and the whole scene isn't as attractive. Breakfast offerings are provided by a nice lady who will do eggs to order @ forty cents per egg or a filled omelet for $2, also this must be one of the few places in town where you can get grits for breakfast. You MUST be thinking of somewhere else. The facility referred to is at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, not to be mixed up with Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights) or Northwestern University (or the affiliated Evanston/Northwestern Health Care system). Thoroughly confused yet?
