I recently tried the "rib" special at Brother Jimmy's on Sheffield, just north of Diversey (2909 N. Diversey 773-528-0888). On Sundays they have an all you can eat deal with pitchers of their draft beer (I think we had Killian's) for $18.

I'm way past the days when "all you can eat" is enticement. If anything, it is usually a deterrent. Quality is more important than quantity.

The dry rub (spicy) ribs were _very good_. I've been to Twin Anchors and Fireplace and am pretty picky when it comes to such things.

The service was good. The wait staff checked on us frequent - not necessarily asking if "everything's ok, but coming by so that we could order/re-order.

Brother Jimmy's is a restaurant bar. There were several youngsters in the restaurant section. It appears that this an attempt to drum up business during football season as there were 2 or 3 games on the big screen TVs which were widely scattered through out the place.

Definitely informal, they serve three kinds of ribs (Northern, Southern & the Dry Rub). I think it is the Southern that is served with sloppy sauce.
