My favorite inexpensive thai restaurant is Oparts on Western just south of Lawrence. It doesn't look like much of a place, but the food is very good.

Just across the street from Opart on Lincoln Ave. is Rosded. It's well worth trying. The restaurant doesn't look like much inside or out, but the food is authentic and very well prepared.

Heh I dunno of any on the North Side but there is a place in the South Burbs thats out of this world....Siam Marina...

There are two locations...one on Sibley Blvd in Calumet City (BYOB) about a half mile west of Torrence Avenue and about a mile east of I94 (Bishop Ford Freeway). The other location is in the River Oaks Shopping Mall at 159th Street (US6) and Torrence Avenue, about 1.5 miles east of I94. This location has a full service bar.

Some friends took me to this place a few years back and of all the Thai places I've been, this is the best hands down. The ambience is excellent too...this is definitley not your storefront place...
