Yes, I'm told there are better steaks to be had in town, but it was close to the hotel, and we were on a tight schedule, etc... and frankly, it was a very good steak. Let me also say that I am an unrepentant carnivore, and I know that being at the top (or hopefully very near the top) of the food chain means that those critters we consume usually meet unpleasant ends. That being said, I was almost completely put off my feed during the rather insipid show and tell by our waitress. This is the portion of the evening where they present you a trolley of the assorted cuts of meat and fish. They also display and identify the vegetables before you not unlike Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy patiently explaining the contents and construction of a BLT to Eddie Murphy in "Trading Places." Anyway... Also on the menu was a 3.5lb lobster who was on the trolley and very much alive. Now -- I've no proof that that hapless crustacean knew what was in store for him/her, but it's sudden moving about directly next to me, and then being picked up to flail about in a scientific display of it's fresh and animate state was rather depressing. My dinner companions concurred that it was one mightily f***ed up episode. Frankly, I think Morton's could drop that bit of show-biz. stepping down off the soap-box,
