I just wanted to post a note to anyone considering a visit to North Pond Cafe in the middle of Lincoln Park, by all means, go. Took my wife there for her birthday and the restaurant was jammed for a Tuesday, yet the service was excellent and the food! Had a chance to speak with chef/partner Mary Ellen Diaz, who was just such a sweetie and had been very worried about how the service etc. would be on such an unexpectedly busy evening. I assured her all was well. Overall a beautiful dining experience. The food is simple, yet elegant, beautifully presented, and oy, what a setting. Run don't walk. Actually, you'll be in the park, so walk!

LOVED North Pond Cafe
Yes, Yes. Went last week with my husband and also had a wonderful dining experience. The food was fresh, delicious and had a beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is also charming. I think they have a pretty good offering of vegeterian choices. While they are a veggie-combo and 1 or two other veggie specials, the appetizers are also something to consider. We had (2) wonderful appetizers: 1. Fried zucchini squash blossoms with a green tomto sauce, and 2. Swisschard and wild mushroom pizza with fontinella cheese. Both were excellent. They also have a pretty good wine selection, although the mark-up is a bit high. Hope you enjoy. Post your comments if you go.
