Dorothy and I were in La Grange Saturday afternoon and decided to try Irish Times, the Irish Pub and Restaurant on the SW corner of Prairie Ave and the BNSF RR tracks in Brookfield. It's a very pubby and comfortable place. The shepherd's pie wth mashed potato crust was tasty, even if the gravy had a distinctly commercial flavor to it. The fish was good and the vinegar andtartar sauce very tasty. The chips were outstanding - fresh cut, cooked to a delicate crispness but with body, potato flavor, and very little grease - the best fries I've ever tasted. They have an assortment of beers on tap, but neither Dorothy nor I imbibe so I can't pass on information about them.

Be aware that there is no non-smoking section.
