I did not like any of the Indian restaurants in Downtown. The food is good, but it is not spicy. The food that is available in India is spicy.

Last week, i visited one in Devon Ave. The name of the restaurant is
Sizzle India. The food was really good, a bit expensive though. They had both south Indian and North Indian food and it really tastes good. check it out.

I think it's the Clay Oven on Orleans by the Aparrel mart. It is really good, and the service was excellent. It's owned by a former employee of Gaylord. Great wine list too!

I'm guessing it's this:

Indian Garden
247 E. Ontario St., Chicago, (312) 280-4910.
Indian/Pakistani. Lunch, dinner: seven days.

Accordign to the Reader Restaurant Finder they have a $7.95 lunch buffet. They also call the service "inconsistent" which would make me feel right at home, as far as my experience with indian restaurants goes.

I am so THERE soon - I'll try to report back to the group. But I still have not even been to Baba, which is even less of a walk from my office...

Thanks for the tip Anil! I did not even know that this place existed.
