A very nice, brand-new French restaurant: Aubriot, 1962 N. Halsted St. (spot was formerly Chapulin and Santa Fe Tapas). It's small but charming and very good. They haven't got their liquor license yet, but you can BYO (probably best to ask about this status when you call for reservations.) Of course it's not at the level of Everest or Trotter's, nor the price level. Leah Zeldes
