SnewsLanguage: English Don't get me wrong, Sophie's Busy Bee restaurant in Wicker Park is a neighborhood institution. It's like a Polish diner--cheap and much to eat for the prices. However, here are two other truly Polish restaurants in a heavily populated polish area: Orbit and the Red Apple. I believe they are both on Milwaukee ave, near Belmont (3000W). The food is authentic and have never been disappointed. Enjoy!

There is another good place right south? of the Busy Bee but north of Orbit right on Milwaukee... the east side, right south of Fullerton I believe... I'm going to butcher the spelling but here goes; Szenkowski's Home Bakery (or it might be Home Kitchen) Sorry for being vague! The front looks like a (and actually is) a small neighborhood-type grocery store and bakery; the restaurant has excellent food, a *great* beer selection, and is very cheap. The menu is long -- I don't think I've ever left with a bill over $10 per person including some good beer. All dinners include soup (great beet soup!), a salad, good bread, and a full meal including some really tasty dill potatoes.... been going there for more than 6 years or so now and never ever been disappointed. One thing, though; it seems mostly visited by regulars who come by very early in the evening -- by the time I always got there with friends @ 7 or so, we'd be the only ones in there - a little wierd but not unpleasant. cheers, Yosh

You can also try the Warsaw Inn on Harlem. Milwaukee/Belmont is the heart of the Polish area, however, and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Polish restaurants there, or along Belmont to Central or Austin. I've read good reviews of Lutnia, also on Belmont in that area, but I've never been there. -Yngver
