Frank,
I am a city dweller myself, but when I do venture out to the "land beyond O'Hare" I like to go to Carlucci. Carlucci has Tuscan style food and a wood-burning oven. You can always go to one of the hotel restaurants and have an adequate meal but what fun is that. If you wish to drive just a little bit Don Juan's restaurant is a great Mexican restaurant, the menu is slightly schizophrenic in that the "regular" menu is very good, but not worth a drive. The real key to a fine meal at Don Juan's is the special menu put together by Patrick. This is upscale Mexican food that rivals Frontera Grill or Topolobampo at much lower prices. You might also check these web sites. http://www.chicagomag.com/ http://www.chicago.tribune.com/ Hope this helps, Gary

I like Pazzo's (Italian food) - right next door to the Marriott in the O'Hare Plaza Complex. The street address would be 8725 W. Higgins and it is just across the north parking lot of the Marriott.
