There don't seem to be a lot of Cuban restaurants in Chicago, that's for sure. One place that I've been meaning to try for a quite a while now is La Unica. We had a brief discussion of it here about it 6 months ago. It's just a little cafeteria in the back of a Cuban market, as unpretentious as can be. Any more comments?

As far as bakeries go, the only thing that comes to mind is the Caribbean American Baking Co. in Rogers Park. I think it's mainly Jamaican but it's possible they may have something you're looking for. Haven't been for a while but I remember thinking their Jamaican patties were lousy but some sort of spice bread was pretty good.
