Miscommunication. There is a vegetarian menu and a regular menu with fish, seafood, meat, etc. Each of the two menus is set. The kitchen will make some alteration expecially for allergies and, I understand for certain food preferences (both for and against) but you should understand you really do not have a choice for any course. You shouldn't find this a problem. The meals are very well composed and it's a real treat to eat there as the service is up to the food. We dined there last Saturday night and I noticed that more than a few of the diners were unfamiliar with the set up and were dining there for the first time. The waiters are quite thorough about explaining each dish. I saw nothing but contentment on the faces in the room. The dishes are complex and it would be difficult to spell out each dish we had, but we loved them all. There were one or two dishes whose ingredients didn't seem all that well composed when reading the menu, but trust me, when they went into my mouth, I knew how well thought out it was.

All of the courses are small so you don't leave stuffed, but you are well fed both in quality and amount when you are finished. We had a seafood dish, rabbit with vegetables, fish with red wine braised vegetables, Lamb with jasmine rice, mushrooms and seaweed and several desserts. The vegetables are different in each dish. Dinner is a work of art. This is not so much a place to eat when you are in Chicago as much as it is a reason to go to Chicago.
