Cassis is a great new French Provencal place on Huron just east of Michigan Avenue. I'm not one for pricey restaurants but this one knocked me out a month ago for a small, private wedding party.

If price is no object- Charlie Trotter's! It is very low key, but elegant.

Some of my favs for an occasion:

Carlucci's on Halsted (italian)
Gordon (500 N Clark) (american)

also try Trio in Evanstan (american)

Have Fun

Without a doubt, it is one of the best, not only in Chicago, but it is capable of challenging any restaurant in North America as the very best!
