We were there last Saturday. Place is small and crowded. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Food was excellent.

However, general opinion of our party was that it is a bit overrated and extremely expensive.

Elizabeth,
Carlos is a wonderful restaurant. The food and atmosphere combined with Carlos and Debbie's attention to detail and customer interaction combine for a completely enjoyable experience. Carlos is not quite up to Trotters or Everest standards, but I have found it is approximately 20% less in cost. We had dinner last month at Seasons in the Four Seasons Hotel. We had not been there for a while and while it was an excellent meal with impeccable food and service there seemed to be some elusive component missing that prevented it from being truly outstanding. It is also possible that I was overly critical as we were hosts to three Chefs who were in town to compete in the Culinary Olympic trials being held at the National Restaurant Association show. Enjoy, Gary

Mexican work for you? Try Maria's on River Rd just south of the
Rosemont Theatre. Try the 'Chile Rellenos' (peppers stuffed with cheese and beans, I think) for a great veg dish. Great salso and hot fresh chips all the time too.

Try Carlucci 6111 N. River Rd. Fine Italian.
Or Giannotti Steak House 8422 Lawrence (just W. of Cumberland). More casual atmosphere. Italian. Good food. For the BEST pizza in the area go to Villa Napoli a block or so West of Giannotti.
