A few of us stopped by this fairly new lunchcounter sort of place after the Linuxfest at College of DuPage this afternoon. It's in a stip mall on the east of Main St. Lombard just south of Roosevelt - across the street from Kabob Cafe. As you might expect from the name, it's more Indian than Kabob's orientation, and the menu is more varied. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, with the leading choice being the super combo: chicken, beef, and lamb cooked on skewers, served with saffron flavored basmati rice and curry sauce on the side.

The hummus wasn't as good, and nowhere near as nicely presented, as at Kabob. The nan was good and fresh (and HOT), but I think I give Kabob a narrow preference on that, too. If I'd ordered the Falafil sandwich... but I didn't, so I don't know yet how that compares. I had the "Chicken Chilly", described as chicken flavored with tandoori masala, cooked in a spicy sauce. It was good and fairly spicy-hot. The rice was okay, but it seemed to have more color than flavor on its own. A cucumber & green pepper salad was, again, okay, but I've enjoyed the similar one at Kabob more; here it may have been just that this goes better with falafel than spicy chicken. Cally had a lamb byrnari (sp?) that was a featured special, which came with rice and salad. She enjoyed it aside from the perrenial, for lamb, Problem of the Bones.

All in all, a nice addition to the area. The owner was friendly and in the course of discussion talked about what sounded like a pretty firm plan to install a couple of internet access stations "so you can check your email".
