>Can somebody tell me where is the best Indian restaurant in Chicagoland?
Downtown restaurants are quite good but tend to be more expensive and less spicy! Some of the good ones are Bukhara, Klay Oven, and Gaylord India.
There is an Indian neighborhood on the north side, on Devon Ave between Western and California. If you can, I would suggest you go there. Here the best restaurants are India House and Tiffin Kitchen for North Indian food and Udupi Palace for South Indian (vegetarian only). All are very good.
Most restaurants have a lunch buffet where you can sample/eat all you want for a fixed price (usually $7 excluding drinks). The only good restaurant which has such a buffet at dinnertime is Sher-a-Panjab on Devon (about $9 excluding drinks).
Good luck, give us your review after your visit!
