The best dim sum in Chicago, in almost everyone's opinion, is the Three Happiness (there are two, go to the one on the northwest corner of Cermak and Wentworth, across from the parking lot). Dim sum is served on weekends only; I always go on Saturday and try to be there at 10 a.m. when it opens.

My favorite regular Chinese restaurant is the Evergreen, on the extreme
southern end of Wentworth Avenue. There are two menus, a regular one that is given to non-Asians, and a Chinese menu usually given only to Asians. Make sure you get the Chinese menu which, thankfully, is also written in English. (Ask for it if they don't give it to you). All the best food is on that menu. My favorite foods there are Szechuan-style green beans, duck with taro root, oysters (or clams) with black bean sauce, and casserole with deep-fried bean curd stuffed with minced shrimp.
