went to benkay last night ate in the main dining room ordered the traditional SUSHI KAISEIKI ($55) it's a full meal---several appetizers, soup, sashimi, sushi, dessert the place is great for special occasions... i'm not sure i'd go there for non-special occasions though, given it's higher price. the sake is strange... your choices for cold sake are: $ 7.50 (and up) for a 100ml glass $28 for a 300ml bottle $ there's a bottle in between the 300 and 600 ml $58 for the 600ml bottles (several types) the interesting thing is that there is no non-premium sake... everything is really expensive. i.e., no house sake. (as far as the cold sake goes anyway) well, as a result, the liquor part of the bill accounted for over 1/3 of the bill and we didn't even drink that much... just one $28 bottle, a large bottle of beer and 2 glasses of sake. the food was amazing, but as much as i appreciate good food, i don't go out often enough---and unfortunately for japanese cuisine, i go out for it even less often. so, 2 nice dinners at honda is what i probably would opt for in the future... but again, you only live once and experiencing benkay was special. :) rodney
