I really love Season's restaurant and the fact that the tables are widely spaced apart which ensures a measure of privacy. I generally dislike restaurants where the tables are on top of each other when I am feeling romantic ;-). I had dinner at Ambria last week and we had a wonderful meal with attentive but unobtrusive service - a far cry from the early days of the restaurant if anyone else remembers it when it first opened. If you don't mind the tarrifs at these places than I will also suggest Spiaggia on Oak and Michigan. I'd request a booth with a table overlooking the lake. The food here is consistently great Northern Italian. I have only eaten lunch at Les Nomades and it is a very romantic restaurant although the spacing between tables could be better. The tiny bar area is a charming place for a drink before dining. The place actually feels like a lovely country inn in France. Everest Room has the most romantic city view in the City and the food of Chef Joho is always terrific. If the thought of paying these high prices is too daunting (except for La Strada which I haven't been to in years - these are among the priciest restaurants in the City) you might give a thought to eating at the romantic classic of Geja's on Armitage. It serves only fondues. The food is just simple fondues (I personally am not terribly impressed with the sauces for the meats and seafood or the cheese fondue but they are certainly ok) that you prepare yourself at table but the place is dark and a classical guitarist plays soft romantic music during the evenings. Anniversary Dinner
My wife and I had a very nice, cozy dinner at Kiki's Bistro, 900 N. Franklin. Medium to long walk due west or short cab ride from the Kinckerbocker. On Thu, 25 Jun 1998 23:05:25 -0500,, "S.
