I haven't been to Sun Valley in quite a long time (can it _really_ be 10 years?), but there was a restaurant named The Christiana (that might have been part of a lodge as well) that was truely excellent. As part of their Swiss/Continental cuisine, they had a sweetbread appetizer that was so wonderful, that we convinced them to serve it as an entree the second time we went. Louie's Pizza in Ketchum. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Maybe not the best Italian food in the world, but for a college student on a budget I always got more food than I could eat. Jim Bird From [email removed] Sun Feb 11 10:46:18 EST 1996 Article: 22672 of rec.food.restaurants
Spent a lot of time in Ketchum last year and hit most of the better restaurants. My favorites were Chandlers (went there four times one visit). Also good is Evergreen and Jack's Appaloosa (don't know why this one was always empty; maybe it's closed by now). These restaurants would be strong B's in LA or SanFran. Be aware though: they aren't cheap. Other places which are good include Felix's and Mangos. The places on Main St. (Pioneer, Whiskey's, and one other which escapes me) are okay for drinks but lame for food. The Wine Company is a great place for light snacks and wine tastings (say hi to Craig for me). And Apple's and Baldy Base Club (BBC) are good for apres ski (BBC also has pretty good food). Finally, don't expect to find any good ethnic food there (except maybe pizza). Baldy Base Club (BBC) near the Warm Springs base Enjoy!
