Denise,
I don't know exactly what you like but here's some of my favorites in Boise. I know of some places in Sun Valley/Ketchum but only know where they are, not their names :-(
Inexpensive (dinner $8 - 10)
Medium price (dinner ~$10-15)
Expensive (> $15)
Microbrew/Pub-Grub:
Harrison Hollow (off of Bogus Basin Road, better food in my opinion) and/or Tablerock (on capital, better beer in my opinion) (both medium priced)
There is also a new sports bar/ brewpub /etc. called Rams Head on the river, looks nice, heard it was ok (beer-wise) Haven't been there but it's on Broadway.
Prime Rib:
Lock, Stock and Barrel (on Emerald - medium price)
Thai:
Oasis (haven't been there but the chef at the place I like went
and started this place - inexpensive)
American:
Sandpiper:
Downtown on Jefferson? (med - expensive)
Fish/American:
Milfords
In 8th St. marketplace (near Tablerock brewpub above)
Enjoy yourself when you come... it just snowed here yesterday... but it's gone today (in town).

These are my opinions only and don't mean anything to anyone else... well... ok, maybe to my dogs and my wife.

Oh, the absolute BEST food in Boise is Lim's Specialty House On Broadway, next to Ves' Broadway Bar. And probably the second best would be Woody's on Vista.
