Perhaps you are comparing Hong Kong prices to U.S. prices, in which case they may be monstrous. But they seem reasonable, cheap even, compared to prices in Finland.

In a dim sum restaurant in Kowloon, (something with Lobster in the title, sorry, can't remember) we had six seafood dimsum choices and one sweet for 97 Hong Kong dollars, or about 12 U.S.

There was no English menu, so the waiter just brought us the same choices someone at a nearby table had chosen. Everything was great except the sweet, which was like peanut butter wrapped in glutinous rice dough.

Eating on Lamma Island is good and cheap too. I like the Rainbow restaurant and their garlic shrimps

I agree that Hong Kong is diner heaven!
