Seafood & veggie are prime concerns. Thanks! Waikiki offers an abundance of eats of all kinds and prices. Usually a good value, and with many coupon offers around, is the Shore Bird Beach Broiler in the Outrigger Reef hotel on the beach. Besides an ocean view, you get to grill your own food on gas grills. Dinners run from $6.95 to almost $20.00. For vegetarian, try one of the many Thai restrants around. I didn't get to any, but they usually have good veg selections. Check the free visitor mags for restaurant discounts. Car rental companys also provide lots of coupons. You will need to stretch your dollars in Hawaii.

Seafood & veggie are prime concerns. Thanks! Some of the best places in Honolulu are off the beaten track or in quite surprising places. The absolute best restaurant in Honolulu, in my humble opinion, is Keo's Thai Restaurant on Kapahulu (sort of at the bottom of Diamond Head). The coconut shrimp are to die for. Saimin is a traditional Hawaiian favorite - noodles with all kind of stuff in them - and the best place is Shiro's (I can't remember if it's on King Street or Beretania just Diamond Head of McCully. The plate lunches at Grace's (there are three branches that I know of) are one of the best bargains in town. Also LikeLike Drive Inn (on Keeaumoku). There's a seafood place in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center that is not expensive and is great - something like "Pacific Seafood". And there's always the Old Spaghetti Factory in Ward Warehouse if you want cheap and filling. E-mail me where you'll be staying and I'll give you some more ideas. Oh yeah, for breakfasts in the Waikiki area you should do Perry Boys Smorgy. Tons of tropical fruit and juice and not a bad selection of other stuff, and it's really cheap (especially if you pick up coupons from the local version of the Pennysaver). Dillo
Roy's Restaurant in Hawaii Kai. 3660 on the Rise in Kaimuki. Masu's Massive Plate Lunch in Kalihi. (easily 4 lbs of food) Mark Zane [email removed]
