A place that you've *got* to go to is 3660 on the Rise in Honolulu.  Fabulous food.

Also good, the Third Floor restaurant. $$$
Sunday brunch at the Hali Kaulani(sp) the pink hotel on waikiki
  is spectacular.$$$
A japanese restaurant (choco's), next to the ilikai hotel, they
  do teppan cooking and lots of japanese were there.  We were
  the only Haulies (sp?, hawaiian name for whites).$$

Nicks Fish Market is good as recommended.
