With the Olympics coming to Atlanta, I feel it necessary to warn folks to stay away from one of the most highly touted (read that "hyped") places in town: Pano's and Paul's. Unless you are a regular, the service is snooty, shoddy and sometimes nonexistent. I can only term my last visit there as The Dining Experience From Hell. I'll be happy to supply the morbid details to anyone who asks, but suffice it to say that I charged back the entire bill (something everyone should do more often when stonewalled by complacency and arrogance).

E-mail me for places that you must try in ATL, as well as places that you should avoid like the plague.

Let us not forget Pittypats Porch for a truly yankee version of southern food, at premium prices. There is also Aunt Fanny's Cabin, which caters to the GWTW view of the south.
